6 major businesses moving to new developments in the North West

The northern powerhouse is well underway. These large businesses are setting up bases and office spaces in new developments in the North West, creating thousands of jobs and investments in the region.

 

  1. The Department for Work and Pensions comes to Blackpool

The DWP will be moving to a £100 million development in the centre of Blackpool when it’s completed in 2024 and the government department is planning to stay for at least 25 years. This 215,000 sq ft, a seven-storey office building in Blackpool’s Talbot Gateway will create 3000 jobs.

  1. A 90-bed Evermore Care home in Chorley

Fortwell Capital has funded a £10 million development loan to create a purpose-built care home with landscaped gardens and retail outlets for up to 90 residents in Chorley, Lancashire. The loan was provided to Evermore Care Homes, a care provider currently operating from Ashton Manor in Lancaster.

 

  1. US company Bold establishes new coworking space in Manchester city centre

Bold, a US-based space-as-a-service business will open its first Manchester workspace in January. The brand has chosen the Bauhaus building in Spinningfields and will provide flexible memberships, private workspaces, mentorship, and communal events for entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small businesses in the centre of Manchester.

 

  1. Law firm Aaron and Partners opens new offices in Birkenhead

The newly refurbished Egerton House in Birkenhead will soon welcome Aaron and Partners. The commercial and private law firm has been running legal workshops in-person in the Wirral and online, and will now have a permanent base in the area.

 

  1. Crown Oil expands its Bury-based sustainable fuel business

Bury’s own Crown Oil recently invested in an 8.88 acre site in Pilsworth, Bury because demand for its renewable fuel is so high. Currently based in Heap Bridge, Bury, Crown is part of a £420m-turnover group of companies and will be using the new space to develop more vegetable oil-based fuel initiatives.

  1. Brabners law firm moves Preston office to Bamber Bridge

With three bases in Manchester, Liverpool, and Preston, independent law firm Brabners already has an established presence in the north west, and will be relocating its Preston office to neighbouring Bamber Bridge. The firm’s new 6,500 sq ft office space will include hybrid working spaces and state-of-the-art design and architectural features.
